Suiko, the name of our dojo, was chosen by Kanjuro Shibata XX, Sensei, who has chosen names for each new dojo opening anywhere in the world.

Each dojo’s name has two parts. All share the element “Tiger” (Ko). The second element is descriptive or characteristic and is unique to each dojo.
Suiko means Water (Sui) and Tiger (Ko): Water Tiger.

Kyudo Québec Inc. is the name of our corporation. It was founded in Fall 1991, and incorporated under the authority of Part III of the Companies Act (R.S.Q., Chapter C-38, article 218), as a non-profit corporation.
Kyudo Québec Inc. was the first kyudo school to be established in Quebec Province.

Our mission is simple:
to promote kyudo according to the teachings of Kanjuro Shibata XX, Sensei, and to facilitate its practice.
